What do the chassis codes (E90, F30, G20, and so on) actually mean?
BMW identifies each generation internally by a chassis code rather than just a model year — for example, the 3 Series has been the E90, then F30, then G20 across three generations. Check your BMW's build sheet, door jamb sticker, or VIN lookup if you're not sure which chassis you have, since spoilers are not interchangeable between generations even within the same model name.

Do I need the M Sport package for this to fit?
No. These spoilers are designed around the shared trunk lid for the whole chassis generation, not just M Sport trims.

Will an M3 or M4 spoiler fit my non-M 3 Series or 4 Series?
In most cases yes, since the M3/M4 shares its trunk lid with the standard 3/4 Series of the same chassis (for example, F30 and F80 M3, or G20 and G80 M3). Always check the specific product page to confirm.

Does this fit the wagon or Touring version?
